Today, Thursday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the establishment of the current truce in Yemen by committing to stop all military operations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

In a press statement today, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom's firm position and support for everything that guarantees the security and stability of Yemen, and achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people, stressing the importance of opening the humanitarian crossings in Taiz.

She praised the efforts of the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in strengthening commitment to the current UN-sponsored armistice, in line with the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced in March 2021 to end the crisis in Yemen and reach a comprehensive political solution.

She stressed that the truce aims primarily to reach a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen and start the political process between the Yemeni government and the Houthis. to pay civilian salaries.
