A municipal police officer from Surzur (Morbihan) was tried on Wednesday before the Vannes court for acts of voyeurism.

For six years, the individual is accused of having violated the privacy of many women by photographing and filming them without their knowledge, reports

Several victims were part of his entourage such as his wife, his sister, his mother-in-law or his sisters-in-law.

He also photographed strangers on the beach or women he met at the town hall of Surzur.

During the searches at his home, the gendarmes had discovered 6,700 photos and 183 videos on his computer.

The 37-year-old father was also on trial for repeated violence against his now six-year-old son.

The court sentenced him to eighteen months in prison with a probationary suspension of three years.

He is also prohibited from coming into contact with the victims and he will never again be able to exercise the function of municipal police officer.

He also saw his parental authority withdrawn.
