8 new "on-demand" buses in Ajman during Eid Al-Adha

The Ajman Transport Authority announced the modernization of the "bus on demand" fleet during the days of Eid Al-Adha, in order to cover the increasing demand for service, to support the transport system in the Emirate of Ajman and to ensure the integration of services during occasions and holidays based on the authority's strategic plan that aims to achieve the vision of the Emirate of Ajman.

Director of the Permits and Transport Systems Department, Sarah Ahmed Al Hosani, said that the on-demand bus service is one of the vital services that support the public transport sector in the emirate, as it has witnessed a great and increasing demand from the public, with an increase of 45% compared to half of last year. 

She pointed out that 8 new buses were added to the fleet based on the increasing demand for service, especially during holidays and feasts, as the service includes two types of buses;

Buses with a capacity of 12 people and buses with a capacity of 14 people. The service aims to shorten the time and distance for a public transport bus user's journey and improve their experience through the use of high-quality buses, thus achieving the authority's vision of safe, sustainable and advanced transport.

She confirmed that the bus's operating hours are on demand during the days of Eid Al-Adha, from 6:30 in the morning after the Eid prayer until after midnight.

The on-demand bus service contributes to reducing fuel consumption, as it has an intelligent scheduling system for the service that reduces wasted kilometres, and the service contributes to reducing carbon emissions by reducing private vehicle trips in service coverage areas and ensuring the enhancement of the transport system through the integration of transport messages in emirate.

The service (Bus on Demand) can be requested through the smart application available in the Apple Store and Google Play Store on smart phones and devices. from their whereabouts.
