At the end of December 2017, Braås GOIF's clubhouse burned to the ground.

When the rescue service arrived at the scene, the cottage was completely overheated and the police suspected that the fire had been started.

The chairman of the association, Johan Schwab, was awakened by the tragic news.

- The fire brigade called me in the middle of the night and after that I got in the car and drove down to the cottage.

It was not a fun day if you say so, he says.

A trophy in lego is the last memory

Things that were lost in the fire included team photos, old trophies, prizes and pennants - memories that have been preserved over the years since the club was started in 1925.

But one thing worked out, a Lego trophy from the 80s.

In the clip above, Johan Schwab shows the trophy, the last memory left.

Bicycle track in WC status

2017-2018 was in short a gloomy time for the club - but now it is starting to brighten.

A new clubhouse, which according to Johan Schwab is more appropriate than the previous one, is in place and for the first time in about nine years, the association has an A-team in football.

But perhaps the biggest thing is what will happen next: A large activity area will be built where the association's gravel floor has existed before.

- There are a lot of things that we will build on our old gravel floor.

It's great fun.

Ready this fall

Padel courts, a surface for e.g.

yoga, an outdoor gym, a motor course for toddlers, an all-activity plan, boules courts, an obstacle course and a pump track with World Cup status - all of this should be in place.

The construction is financed through grants and is planned to be completed in September this year.

This is how the large activity area is planned to look like.
