According to him, the issue will have to be discussed among the G7 countries and those who are ready to give Kyiv such security guarantees.

“Germany is one of the countries that belong to them,” Scholz is quoted by TASS.

He added that these guarantees "would not be similar to those in accordance with Article 5 of the NATO treaty."

“They must be adapted to the specific situation,” explained the German Chancellor.

At the end of June, during a press conference, Scholz laughed after a question from a journalist about security guarantees for Ukraine from the G7.
