Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi presented an initiative of two proposals for what he described as a peaceful solution to the crisis in the country, considering that it is a last attempt to get out of the crisis situation in the country and without bloodshed.

The first proposal includes holding presidential and parliamentary elections with the participation of all, without excluding any party, and under the supervision and management of a neutral party.

Saif al-Islam said - in a statement posted on his Facebook account - that the first option is for a "neutral party" to make legal and administrative arrangements for urgent "non-exclusive" presidential and parliamentary elections in which everyone participates "whatever the considerations and justifications" while "leaving the decision to the people without custodian of it."

He believed that this is "the best option, although it is highly unlikely in the current circumstances."

As for the second proposal submitted by Gaddafi, it includes the collective withdrawal of all personalities who are a party to political differences from the presidential elections.

In this regard, the statement stated, "Given that there is a dispute over the terms of running for the presidential elections, and everyone wants to set certain conditions to exclude specific people, we suggest that these figures withdraw from the electoral process collectively without exception."

The withdrawal process will be followed by holding presidential elections "without them to save the country as a last attempt to peacefully resolve the crisis situation without bloodshed."

If this does not happen, he said, "this farce and tragedy that our country is going through will continue, and the march of tears and blood that must be brought to an end will continue, and this limit will be, God willing, sooner rather than later."

Last November, Saif al-Islam submitted his candidacy papers to the electoral commission for the presidential elections.

On Tuesday, the Presidential Council in Libya announced a plan to solve the political impasse in the country;

It includes preserving the country's unity and ending the division, calling for urgent consultations with the country's political parties, to achieve consensus on the details of the plan.

The council said, in a statement published by its media office, that it had held a number of meetings among its members in this regard, and reached consensus on a general framework for an action plan that addresses the political blockage in the country.

He pointed out that Abdullah Al-Lafi, deputy in the Presidential Council, was assigned to conduct urgent consultations with the political parties to achieve consensus on their details, and to launch them later in the form of a road map with clear tracks and landmarks to end the transitional stages through the presidential and parliamentary elections within a specific time frame.
