Chinanews.com reported on July 6 that a senior aide to the mayor of New York was robbed in Brooklyn on the morning of the 5th local time.

According to the New York Post, sources said Christopher, 33, was approached by two suspects at the time.

Christopher was pushed to the ground after refusing to hand over his mobile wallet.

The source also said that Christopher had warned, "You don't want to do that. I work for the mayor." But he was ignored, and one of the suspects removed his clothes to show the butt of a gun tucked into his waist.

The two suspects then fled the scene.

The New York mayor's office has yet to respond, the report said.

There have been 8,314 robberies in New York City so far this year, up 39.7 percent from the same period in 2021, according to NYPD data.
