On Tuesday, several initiatives were launched by politicians to break the impasse in which the country finds itself.

The Presidential Council, a body resulting from the Geneva political agreement, notably proposed an action plan.

Led by Mohamad al-Manfi,

it is accused of inertia by the Libyans

and therefore proposes the resignation of the two governments, the one resulting from the political agreement which brought Abdelhamid Dbeibah to power in February 2021, and the one appointed by Parliament in last March and led by

Fathi Bachagha

.

A solution favored by Americans who are looking for a third man for this new period.

"

Preserve the unity of the country and avoid a new war

 "

Endowed with certain executive powers, the Presidential Council composed of three members proposes that one of its members occupy the post of Prime Minister to lead the country towards general elections.

But it seems that within the Council, not everyone agrees with the adoption of this solution despite their press release which says they want to “

preserve the unity of the country and avoid a new war

 ”.

For his part,

Saif al Islam al-Gaddafi

, the son of the former dictator, proposes that anyone who stirs up division leave the political scene, including himself, in order to find a national figure who would bring consensus to lead the countries towards inclusive elections.

According to several observers, these two initiatives are only announcement effects and cannot lead to anything concrete.

The Presidential Council is part of the hated political class.

As for Saif al-Islam, he is refused by part of the population, by Washington and by certain European powers.
