Leaked the last call between Putin and Macron before the war .. Russia comments

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Wednesday that the publication of the transcript of a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron was a violation of diplomatic protocol.

"The principles of diplomatic conduct do not provide for unilateral leaks (such as) recordings," Lavrov said at a press conference in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

Radio France 2 had published a documentary on the French president's handling of the Russian-Ukrainian war, which included details of the phone call that took place between the two leaders days before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine last February.

According to "Sky News Arabia".

Lavrov noted that Russia has nothing to be ashamed of in the content of the conversation between the two presidents.

"We always lead the negotiations in a way that we have nothing to be ashamed of," he added.

We always say what we think and are ready to respond to what we have said and explain our position.”

The call took place on the morning of February 20, four days before the outbreak of the war, and was described as the last call before resorting to the military option.

The interview lasted an hour and 45 minutes, during which Macron's aides used to use the interview in another room in the Elysee, and they made quick notes that they immediately sent to the French president via messages, in a charged atmosphere.

The two leaders abandoned the usual diplomatic language in the calls of heads of state, using the word "you" and using each other's first name.

For example, Macron said: "Vladimir... I want you to tell me your reading of the situation (...) Tell me what your intentions are?"

Putin replied: “What can I say?

You see for yourself what is happening?”, accusing Ukraine of violating the Minsk agreements negotiated between 2014 and 2015.
