The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, believes that in the future, with the consent of Lithuania, it is possible to build a dedicated railway and highway connecting the main territory of Russia and Kaliningrad.
According to him, it is possible to “make some kind of international regime for its functioning so that it is a guaranteed land connection” with the main territory.
According to RIA Novosti, Alikhanov clarified what he meant by freight traffic, but the possibility of people moving could also be considered.
