China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with President Marcos shortly after taking office in the Philippines he visited and called for expanding cooperation between the two countries and opening up a new "golden age."

As the United States approaches, it seems that it aims to strengthen its relationship with the new administration by clarifying its stance of emphasizing the Philippines.

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited the Philippines prior to the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Indonesia and met with President Marcos, who had just taken office at the end of last month, on the 6th.



According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, at the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang called for "China wants to expand cooperation with the Philippines and open up a new'golden age'", and Mr. Marcos has set a priority policy on fields such as agriculture, infrastructure and energy. I expressed my intention to accelerate cooperation.



He also emphasized his stance to resolve the issue of the South China Sea, where the two countries are vying for sovereignty, saying, "Both sides should strengthen dialogue and deal with it appropriately."



Meanwhile, President Marcos also told Twitter after the meeting that "the two people have talked about their efforts to maintain a strong cooperative relationship."



Following the dispatch of Vice President Wang Qishan to the inauguration ceremony of President Marcos, Foreign Minister Wang visited China to clarify his stance of emphasizing the Philippines.



With regard to the Philippines, while the United States is approaching, it seems that China is aiming to strengthen relations with the new government by leveraging economic support.
