Small fright for the passengers of an EasyJet flight between London and the Balearic Islands.
This Sunday, they suddenly saw a Spanish army fighter plane through the portholes.
Videos posted on social networks show the F18 very close to the Airbus A 319.
A bad joke would be at the origin of this military escort.
An 18-year-old man, who was on the plane with five friends, allegedly issued a fake bomb threat on social media, police said.
As soon as it arrived in Spanish airspace, the aircraft was thus intercepted.

On the video, the F18 appears to be "pitching", a maneuver which was intended to indicate to the pilot of the EasyJet flight to follow it.
The Airbus finally landed in a secure area of the airport in Menorca, an island in the Balearic Islands.
The luggage of all passengers was then inspected by sniffer dogs and bomb disposal experts.
The young man responsible for the false alert has been arrested and will soon appear in court.
