Two officers shot after a "security incident" in the US state of Philadelphia

 Two police officers in the US state of Philadelphia were shot after a "security incident" near Benjamin Franklin Parkway as thousands were enjoying a concert and fireworks display marking Independence Day, US media reported.


"There was a security incident on Benjamin Franklin Parkway," emergency authorities said.


And CBS 3 Philadelphia reported that the condition of the two officers is stable.

The police are looking for the shooter.


In a video shown by local media, people are shown running on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Police ordered people in nearby buildings to take shelter.

"I didn't hear the shots, but the cops were running," one woman told NBC.

Earlier on Monday, a rooftop gunman in Chicago's Highland Park suburb opened fire on a July 4 Independence Day parade, killing six and wounding more than 36.
