The Military Emergency Unit (UME) will incorporate this Tuesday morning
80 more soldiers and two Cougar helicopters from the Emergency Helicopter Battalion II
(BHELEME II) to help in the extinction of the forest fire in Venta del Moro (Valencia) .
As reported by the UME on its Twitter account, during this morning two sections and a machine of engineers from the Third Emergency Intervention Battalion (BIEM III) "work in the queue, right flank and head" of the forest fire.
With the incorporation of the aforementioned 80 soldiers, 215 members
of this unit
will work to extinguish the fire .
For its part, the
Valencia Fire Department has more than 300 people
on the ground and a part has been working during this past night.
It is expected that the
nearly 20 aerial means
that yesterday worked on the extinction and left at sunset will rejoin, as reported by the body itself.
The fire in the municipality of Venta del Moro,
on the border between Valencia and Cuenca
, already affects
at least 800 hectares
and, although the weather conditions have improved tonight, it is feared that this Tuesday they will worsen again, according to what he said this Monday the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig.
From the Advanced Command Post (PMA), Puig has made a first assessment of this fire,
apparently caused on Sunday by lightning
and that this Monday, after being stabilized at noon,
has gotten out of control when the direction of the wind changed,
with a very pronounced west and maximum values of around 38 degrees, according to the State Meteorological Agency
