  Affected by this year's No. 3 typhoon "Siamba", Yulin City experienced heavy to heavy rain on July 2, with the maximum rainfall reaching 87 mm.

At 5:13 p.m. on July 2, the duty officer of the Guangxi Geological Environment Monitoring Station issued an orange meteorological warning of geological disasters after consulting with the Yulin Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources according to the possible rainfall caused by typhoon "Siamba", and telephoned Notify Beiliu Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources to strengthen inspection and monitoring of geological disaster-prone areas in Liuma Town and other places.

  Long Shicai, a monitoring officer in Dahe Village, Liuma Town, immediately inspected the geological hazards in the village after receiving the orange warning message of geological disasters.

At around 5:35 p.m. on July 2, when Long Shicai inspected the back mountain of villager Xu Guifeng's house, he found signs of instability on the slope of the back mountain, and immediately organized the emergency evacuation of the people in the house to a safe area.

  Affected by the continuous rainfall, at about 0:28 on July 3, a landslide occurred in the back mountain of Xu Guifeng's house, which overturned the original simple retaining wall, and the rockfall penetrated the back wall of the house, causing damage to the wall on the second floor of the house.

Fortunately, due to the timely warning and evacuation, 2 people may be injured or killed due to geological disasters.

  After investigation, it was found that the landslide was caused by continuous rainfall, and the landslide body was about 45 cubic meters. At present, Guangxi Natural Resources Department sent an expert team to the disaster site to carry out emergency investigation and monitoring of the disaster, to guide the local government to formulate emergency rescue and disposal plans, and to assist relevant parties. The department demarcates dangerous areas, sets up warning lines, assigns monitors and persons in charge of monitoring, and issues "disaster prevention and risk avoidance" clear cards to strengthen geological disaster prevention.
