Earlier this year, the majority in the city of Stockholm decided to sell the school premises in Gubbängen to the International English School, IES.

The opposition was critical of the deal, and among other things the Left Party appealed it to the administrative court, which caused the deal to drag on.

The original transfer agreement between the city and IES expired last June and IES has chosen not to extend the agreement.

Thus, there will be no deal.

- The world situation looks different today compared to when we first started talks with the city about acquiring the property, says IES vice president Jörgen Stenquist to Fastighetsnytt.

The premises will continue to be owned by the City of Stockholm's school property company Sisab and leased by IES.
