Kim Seung-hee, a candidate for Minister of Health and Welfare, resigned voluntarily.

Candidate Kim issued a statement of resignation today (the 4th) and said, "I will humbly accept the criticism that I cannot finally be free from management responsibilities regardless of the facts."

He further explained that political funds are "not useful for personal use at all and are a matter of practical error in the accounting process."

When candidate Kim was a member of the National Assembly in his 20s, suspicions were raised that he had painted a rental car with political funds and then purchased a car and gave donations to members of the same party.

Earlier this morning, on the way to work, President Yoon Seok-yeol said that he would come to a conclusion quickly after discussing with his aides after being asked about Kim's whereabouts.

[President Seok-Yeol Yoon: Looking at the figures pushed by the previous government, I don't think there is any comparison.

However, our government is different, so we should discuss it with our staff and colleagues...

In addition, as candidates for the Fair Trade Chairperson, President Yoon and Song Ok-ryeol, a classmate of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, were nominated as professors at Seoul National University Law School.

The presidential office also said that it has requested the National Assembly to send a report on the progress of hearings on Kim Joo-hyun, a candidate for the Financial Services Commission, which is due by the 8th.
