• Politics The controversial photo of Irene Montero and her Equality team in Times Square

Last week a photo of Irene Montero was published in

New York

in which she was out with several friends enjoying leisure time and tourism.

However, this

trip

to the United States had an objective that the

Minister of Equality

has clarified in reasons, but not in expenses.

For several days, Montero and other women linked to Podemos were carrying out a

visit scheduled with several American feminist organizations

.

Among the meetings that the leaders of

Podemos

had, the one they had with Sima Bahous, the executive of the Latin American organization

UN Women

or with Gloia Steinem, an entity of American historical feminism, stands out.

They also got together to chat with other less popular activists such as

Emily Kadar, María Sjödin

or with minority organizations in the country such as the Democratic Socialists of America or ReproRights.

During her stay with expenses paid and not yet specified,

Irene Montero

enjoyed free time to walk with her fellow party members.

Some of them known, like

Isa Serra

and others a little more anonymous.

All of them have shared photos of these happy moments on social networks.

However, to understand the motivations for this visit, it is necessary to meet

Irene, Pam, Lidia, Isa and Falcon

.

Four women and a plane that have made it possible to take a little piece of

United We Can

to the cradle of capitalism.
