According to the publication, citing market participants, MSD notified counterparties that it was halting the supply of medicines for chicken pox (Varivax), as well as measles, rubella and mumps (M-M-R II) to Russia.

In turn, MSD said that they are "making every effort" to ensure the supply of vital drugs and vaccines, which have no analogues in Russia.

Antonina Oblasova, co-founder of ANO Collective Immunity, explained that according to Russian law, the American company will be able to stop deliveries only a year after it notifies the Ministry of Health of the relevant plans.

Earlier, First Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Fisenko said that Russia is capable of producing about 80% of the entire range from the list of vital drugs.
