“If our maintenance of the army was about 156 billion hryvnias ($5.3 billion), this was the budget of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ukrainian army for a year, today about 130 billion ($4.4 billion – ed.) is a monthly amount,” Shmyhal said in an interview with LB.ua.
Earlier, Oleg Ustinenko, economic adviser to the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed the opinion that Ukraine's GDP decline by the end of the year is expected at the level of 35-40%.
Prior to this, the National Bank of Ukraine announced an increase in the discount rate from 10 to 25%.
