Times and participants

The event is still called Almedalen Week but has been shortened somewhat and runs from Sunday 3 July to Thursday 7 July.

Each parliamentary party has half a day each and the party leaders give speeches according to the schedule:

Sunday:

Magdalena Andersson, Social Democrats, speaks at 7 p.m.

Monday:

Ulf Kristersson, Moderates, speaks at 11. Nooshi Dadgostar, Left Party, speaks at 19.

Tuesday:

Ebba Busch, Christian Democrats, speaks at 11. Johan Pehrson, Liberals, speaks at 19.

Wednesday:

Jimmie Åkesson, Sweden Democrats, speaks at 11. Annie Lööf, Center Party, speaks at 19.

Thursday:

Per Bohlund, Green Party, speaks at 19.

In addition to the party leadership numbers, the parties hold press conferences and there are also a large number of organizations that hold seminars.

SVT has several reporters, photographers, commentators and presenters on site in Almedalen.

The party leader numbers are broadcast live on svt.se and in SVT Forum on SVT2.

SVT Forum also broadcasts programs from Almedalen where, among others, ÖB Micael Bydén, economists and representatives of various parties participate.

Security

Due to the large number of people and politicians who come to Almedalen, security is tightened.

Both the police and the security police will have reinforced manning.

Throughout Almedalen Week, it is forbidden to use drones over Visby.

The entire Almedalen area is also closed to vehicular traffic.
