Park Ji-hyeon, former chairman of the Joint Emergency Response Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea, said regarding the controversy over her qualification to run as party leader, "It can be dealt with according to the proviso that 'can be decided differently by a resolution of the party affairs committee' in the party bylaws."

Former Chairman Park said through SNS this afternoon, "It is false news that the party constitution and bylaws need to be amended for my candidacy."

According to the Democratic Party constitution and party rules, the right to be elected for party office and public office is granted only to members of the right party who joined the party six months ago.

However, the party bylaws stipulate that 'it may be decided differently by the resolution of the party affairs committee'.

Former Chairman Park emphasized, "According to this regulation, in the local elections, Candidate Dong-yeon Kim also participated in the Gyeonggi governor's primary after passing the resolution of the non-captain and the party affairs committee."

He continued, "I do not ask for amendments to the party constitution or party rules for me under any circumstances," he said.
