No increase in the cost of public transportation in Dubai except for a dynamic change in taxi fare

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai confirmed to "Emirates Today" that there will be no increase in the tariff for public transportation, except for what it described as "a dynamic change in the tariff for the kilometers traveled by taxi trips."

The authority said in its response to questions received by "Emirates Today" about the passengers' notice of a rise in the tariff for flights coming from the airport, which the newspaper directed to the authority, "that changing the tariff of taxis is a dynamic change based on the change in fuel prices in the local market, where the tariff is calculated based on On the fuel consumption per kilometer, and that a deliberate increase was applied without affecting the tariff for opening and closing the meter, which still maintains the same value approved for years.

"Emirates Today" conducted a field tour in which it investigated transportation fees using public transportation, including taxis, after receiving the aforementioned observations along with many questions about the possibility of raising public transportation prices as a result of the global rise in fuel prices, but the Roads Authority And transportation in Dubai confirmed in its response that the cost of public transportation will not be affected by the rise in fuel prices, noting that the authority provides a variety of mass transportation options that suit all segments of society, the most important of which are the Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, public transportation buses, and an integrated system of various marine transportation means. 

The authority called on passengers to relieve themselves, get rid of the burden of driving and save on fuel consumption, by using public transportation, which is characterized by its economic prices and geographical coverage of the various regions of the Emirate of Dubai, in addition to the availability of public buses transport service across cities to the various emirates of the country.
