It has been two months since the tragic fatal accident on Hallandsåsen.

Some young people had stopped on the motorway after the minibus they caught caught fire.

A moment later, a truck drove into the minibus.

Three young men lose their lives.

"Should have driven slower"

The truck driver is suspected of having acted incorrectly in connection with the incident and has been charged with causing another person's death.

- I claim that he should have driven slower.

There was a dangerous traffic situation that he should have noticed and acted on, prosecutor Malin Granström has previously told SVT.

The driver denies the crime and his lawyer Stefan Rosell has been critical of the fact that the investigation even led to prosecution.

- I have a very hard time understanding that.

It is unfortunate that such a tragic event should lead to one somehow chasing a scapegoat when there is no such thing to hunt, says Stefan Rosell.

Released from custody

The trial ended in mid-June, after which the truck driver was released from custody.

- Normally, the penalty for these crimes is a conditional sentence and a daily fine, and then there is no reason for him to continue to be detained, prosecutor Malin Granström said then.

The verdict is expected on Friday.

Heavy smoke billowed from the stationary car, which the driver should have perceived if the speed had been lower, the prosecutor says.
