According to the national secretary of EELV, Julien Batou, the presidential party LREM would participate in the "de-demonization" of the National Rally and would be its "stepping stone" in the National Assembly.

Assembly where the group led by Marine Le Pen obtained two posts of vice-presidents.

The national secretary of EELV Julien Bayou accused Friday LREM of participating in the "de-demonization" of the National Rally and of being its "stepping stone" in the National Assembly where the RN deputies obtained two posts of vice-presidents.

"The challenge is not to deny that they (the RN) have deputies. They were elected; whose act".

But "we do not want to participate in any way in the demonization or institutionalization of the National Front", which has become National Rally, argued Julien Bayou on France 2.

“LREM deputies voted in numbers on a National Front ballot”

“LREM deputies voted in large numbers on a National Front ballot,” he added.

While the RN was able to form a group with its 89 deputies, the RN candidates for the vice-presidencies "should have had 90 votes".

But "they made 290", protested the deputy from Paris.

"It says that LREM, which claimed to be a dam to the National Front, made itself the stepping stone. They chose to help them, and rather than electing environmental vice-presidencies for example, they chose to do elect far-right deputies,” he lamented.

"I find this extremely serious, because we blocked the left, the environmentalists (during the presidential and legislative elections, editor's note). It was we who, out of republican discipline, voted Macron to avoid Marine Le Pen" President of the Republic and his "dangerous party for democracy", he added.

The deputy LFI Manuel Bompard abounded on Public Senate, also denouncing “an agreement between the right and the extreme right for, on the back of the (united left) Nupes, to distribute the various responsibilities at the office” of the Assembly.
