President Yoon Seok-yeol returned home through Seoul International Airport on the afternoon of the 1st after finishing his trip to Madrid, Spain for 5 days and 3 nights, which he visited to attend the NATO Summit.



On his way home, President Yoon held a press conference on his presidential plane, Air Force No. 1, and expressed his feelings after completing this visit.



[President Seok-Yeol Yun: I also discussed various current issues between the two countries with the heads of countries in attendance, and I think this trip was a fruitful opportunity.]



President Yoon selected the Korea-US-Japan Trilateral Summit as the most meaningful event.



[President Yoon Seok-yeol: The three-way summit between the US and Japan was the most meaningful.

And it was meaningful for the second time to attend the NATO Summit plenary session and listen to the positions of the heads of state on security issues.]



In particular, it was important for the leaders of the Republic of Korea, the United States and Japan to resume military security cooperation, which had been suspended for the purpose of responding to the North Korean nuclear issue.

He explained that he had reached a consensus.



[President Yun Seok-yeol: We can say that we have reached agreement with the principle that certain military and security cooperation that has been suspended for a long time to respond to the North Korean nuclear program, and that it is desirable to resume these aspects.



] Regarding the issue, he said, "We have to put both the past and future problems on one table and solve them."



[President Seok-Yeol Yoon: The mindset that, if there is no progress between the two countries on past history issues, we cannot discuss current issues and future issues should be avoided.]



In response to the question of how to resolve China's opposition to the NATO summit, he answered:



[President Seok-Yeol Yoon: We do not exclude any specific country or do this, but we must follow the values ​​that we must universally pursue, whether in domestic or international relations, and the norms that must be followed, whether in domestic social norms or in international relations, and these values ​​must be followed. I think that international and domestic issues should be dealt with with that spirit.]



He also evaluated that the international community is working together for world peace and prosperity, and that there can be no likes or dislikes for some countries.



[President Yoon Seok-yeol: Any country does not respect the norm-based order, and when we act against the values ​​and norms that the world must uphold together, we all condemn it together, and jointly impose sanctions. ]



President Yoon also added that the interest of the heads of state in our nuclear power plant and defense industry was high.



[President Seok-Yeol Yoon: We prepared a lot of brochures for the introduction of the APR1400 model developed independently in Korea, so I introduced the brochures while explaining to the leaders.

After completing his visit to Spain ,



President Yoon plans to receive a report on domestic issues from his staff and check the direction of state administration, including the appointment of Park Soon-ae Ministry of Education, Kim Seung-hee Ministry of Health and Welfare, and Kim Seung-gyeom as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.



At the Seoul Airport where President Yoon returned to Korea today, Lee Jun-seok, the representative of the People's Power, who did not appear on the way out, met up and shook hands with President Yoon, drawing attention.
