China News Agency, Manila, June 30. On June 30, President Xi Jinping's special representative and Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Philippine President Marcos in Manila, the Philippines, and met with him.

Wang Qishan forwarded President Xi Jinping's congratulatory letter to Marcos and conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings and best wishes to President Marcos.

Wang Qishan said that the traditional friendship between China and the Philippines has lasted for thousands of years.

Mr. President and your family have a deep relationship with China and have made great contributions to promoting China-Philippines friendship.

The Chinese side has always placed the Philippines as a priority in its neighboring diplomacy, and looks forward to working with the new Philippine government to carry forward friendship, enhance mutual trust, and continue cooperation, so as to usher in a new "Golden Era" for China-Philippines relations.

Wang Qishan put forward four suggestions on the next development of bilateral relations.

The first is to adhere to the leadership of the head of state and steer the helm for China-Philippines relations.

The second is to adhere to the docking development strategy and further cultivate new growth points for China-Philippines pragmatic cooperation in the new era.

The third is to insist on properly handling disputes and jointly safeguard the peace and tranquility of the South China Sea.

The fourth is to uphold international justice and jointly promote peace and development in Asia, fairness and justice in the world and the well-being of all mankind.

Marcos asked Wang Qishan to convey his heartfelt thanks and sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, and warmly welcomed Vice President Wang Qishan to the Philippines to attend the inauguration ceremony.

Marcos happily recalled the scene when he visited China with his mother in 1974, saying that the relationship between the Philippines and China has a long history, and the people of the two countries are close to each other.

China is the strongest partner of the Philippines, and good-neighborliness and friendship serve the fundamental interests of the two peoples.

The new Philippine government attaches great importance to its relations with China, and is willing to participate more deeply in the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", join hands with China to address regional challenges, and push bilateral relations to a new level.
