SVT Västmanland reported earlier this year that Kvinnohuset in Västerås lost one third of its funding.

They therefore collected signatures to protest and called for a meeting with politicians.

The municipal board in Västerås decided shortly afterwards on an extra contribution to Kvinnohuset for 2022. Kvinnohuset in Västerås will receive a little over SEK 400,000, with the justification that they will not lose the skills they have built up over a long period of time.

- It feels absolutely fantastic and there are many different actors who have shown support, not only the politicians, but the money raised by the city of Västerås is important, says Elin Hedén, operations manager of the Association Kvinnohuset in Västerås.

- We are really grateful for all the nice collections that we have had to take part in as well.

It warms that more people think we are doing important work.

How will you work with the help of the financing you have now received?

- We will continue to hold talks with politicians, because we must ensure stable funding.
