The region makes the assessment that the application concerning the Filehajdar and Västra crime quarries does not affect the region's ability to take water from Tingstäde swamp and that it has a very small impact on the Dyhagen water source.

However, the region still cannot accept Cementa's proposals for compensatory measures for water supply, as they are not considered good enough.

- It must be ensured as far as possible that the public water supply is left unaffected by the mining that takes place.

Therefore, we propose a tightening of the condition that applies to the region's wells and Cementa's responsibility to secure the water supply in the long term, says Eva Nypelius (C), chair of the regional board, in a press release.
