Oskarshamn one of the few municipalities that go to Almedalen: "Take the bike"

SVT Småland asked all municipalities in Kronoberg and Kalmar counties about how they reason before participating in Almedalen Week.

Not a single municipality in Kronoberg County will send a representative.

But from Kalmar County, several municipalities and also the region will be present.

- We think it is a good opportunity to make contacts and have strategic conversations, says Henrik Andersson, municipal director in Oskarshamn.

Takes the bike to Gotland

Just over five politicians and officials from Oskarshamn will travel in a united troop to Visby, by taking bicycles on the ferry.

The agenda includes talks and seminars on the OKG nuclear power plant, the Gotland ferry and industrial municipalities.

Should more municipalities be in place to network?

- You can think about whether there are better places to be than in Visby, especially after the pandemic.

We will see how Almedalen is this time.

But whether you should go or not, you have to answer for yourself, says Henrik Andersson.
