Modification of the taxi meter tariff in Sharjah

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has announced the amendment of the taxi meter tariff, starting today, in implementation of the decision of the Emirate's Executive Council, to improve the services provided to users of taxis and intercity buses.

The decision comes in implementation of the authority's strategy aimed at providing the best services in the transport and communications sector, and to promote the use of mass transportation, and in line with the current economic changes after the liberalization of the price of fuel.

The head of the authority, Eng. Yousef Khamis Al-Othmani, said that the amendment came in accordance with the decision of the mechanism for calculating the tariff for taxi vehicles, which is based on the principle of liberalizing fuel prices, as the amendment system was adopted in the tariff of opening the meter up and down according to the pricing approved for fuel by the Ministry of Energy, referring to the situation The authority has a tariff pricing policy and follows up its implementation to serve the segment of taxi users.

He explained that amending the tariff schedule for taxis operating in the emirate will have a positive impact on the level of service.
