Walking into the "Asia Steel No. 1" commercial complex located in Longgang District, Shenzhen, towering office buildings, talent apartments, and tree-lined conjoined corridors are presented in front of you.

The architectural design here, and even the choice of bricks and tiles, were created by Hong Kong youth and returnee Lu Zikang and his team in 8 years.

"At that time, I was very optimistic about the development of Shenzhen. Because there are many mainland markets and opportunities, I opened a construction engineering company and often traveled to and from the construction markets in Xiamen, Dongguan, Shenzhen and other places." After 15 years, Lu Zikang said that he looked back and found that all the way Since then, I have been very fortunate to have seized development opportunities in the Bay Area and have grown a lot.

"More than ten years ago, this place was still a muddy road, surrounded by container trucks, but now, the two bright roads are full of traffic. The 'Asia Steel No. 1' project is from the selection of every brick to the presentation of the final commercial complex. From a flat ground to a high-rise building, we have built it ourselves. Recently, we have just negotiated a project with Marriott Hotel, and we will set up a hotel to provide more accommodation convenience.” Lu Zikang said.

After studying in Australia, Lu Zikang chose Shenzhen, which is close to Hong Kong, as his base as soon as he finished his studies.

Lv Zikang lives and works in Shenzhen, and serves as a member of the Longgang District Political Consultative Conference, the executive chairman of the Longgang District Pinghu Hong Kong People's Association, and the honorary chairman of the New Territories Principals Association.

Last year, Shenzhen issued the "Several Measures on Further Facilitating the Development of Hong Kong and Macao Residents in Shenzhen", which covers Hong Kong and Macao residents in deep learning, employment, entrepreneurship, and life.

Lv Zikang, who once enjoyed the housing subsidy policy, now also provides housing rent concessions for young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao who are interested in developing in Shenzhen.

Starting from the "Asia Steel No. 1" office building and walking through the corridor, you can reach the 9-storey talent apartment with 146 suites.

According to Lu Zikang, the talent apartment provides suites ranging from single rooms to multi-person rooms. The air conditioners, TV sets, washing machines and other facilities are fully equipped, which can fully realize the "packed check-in".

Fast, hard, and accurate are Lu Zikang's greatest feelings about Shenzhen's development.

"Whether it is the construction of high-rise buildings, the layout of the transportation network, or the support of policies, Shenzhen's development speed over the years is faster than that of mainland cities and Hong Kong."

The average age of Shenzhen is only 32.5 years old. In Lu Zikang's eyes, many young people are developing here, daring to work hard, and constantly creating an international, modern and urbanized Shenzhen.

As the honorary president of the New Territories Principals Association, Lu Zikang spared no effort to promote two-way exchanges between students from Shenzhen and Hong Kong and enhance friendship.

"On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, we organized nearly 100 students from Shenzhen and Hong Kong to hold an online exchange meeting to discuss the development of green environmental protection in China. The outstanding paintings of students from Hong Kong and Hong Kong allow more students and young people to communicate with each other and make progress together."

At the nucleic acid testing point in Hehua Community, Pinghu Street, Longgang District, Shenzhen, Lu Zikang volunteers for nucleic acid testing whenever he is free.

During the epidemic, Lu Zikang lived in an isolation hotel and felt the hard work of medical staff.

"Medical staff regularly send testing reagents to the room every day to take care of us. I think volunteering, donating money, and raising supplies to support the fight against the epidemic are all very meaningful things." (End)
