Deaths and injuries in demonstrations in the streets of Khartoum and its suburbs

Two other demonstrators were killed "by the bullets of the Sudanese security forces" Thursday in the city of Omdurman, in the Khartoum suburbs, in protests against the October 25 military coup led by army chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, according to what the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors announced, bringing the number of protesters killed today to five.

"This brings the total number of deaths counted by the committee to 108," since the start of regular protests against the coup carried out by army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on October 25, the committee said.

On the anniversary of June 30, thousands demonstrated Thursday towards the presidential palace, demanding an end to the military rule, while the security forces fired tear gas canisters to disperse them and cut off internet and communication abroad.

In the center of the capital, Khartoum, security forces used water cannons and tear gas canisters to prevent the demonstrators from marching towards the presidential palace, according to eyewitnesses.

Demonstrators carried banners calling for retribution for the martyrs who died in previous demonstrations, while other demonstrators chanted slogans against the army, calling for a return to the barracks.

Pro-democracy activists had promised mass demonstrations to force the army to return power to civilians in the country, where the internet was cut off and phone calls faced many problems Thursday.
