Hear Jonathan Svensson about how he was affected and about the apology he received

It was in a clip published on Wednesday by the media channel Riks that the district chairman of the Social Democrats' youth union, SSU, in Fyrbodal was singled out for having convictions for assault and drunk driving against him.

Something that was completely wrong and that now leads to Jonathan Svensson making a police report.

- It's a matter of justice and I want redress.

It is undemocratic to list people who have not committed crimes, he says.

Welcome police report

From a central location within SSU, a police report is welcomed.

- I think it is understandable that it is reported, it is a typical case of libel.

The nation's actions are unacceptable and when they hang out an individual, innocent, SSU member, I as chairman will always stand up for that member, says SSU's chairman Lisa Nåbo.

Has apologized

Dick Erixon is the editor-in-chief of the online magazine Samtiden and the publisher responsible for Riks.

He confirms that they were wrong in person and that the clip was taken down after they were contacted by SSU.

Dick Erixon, responsible publisher Riks

- It is very sad what happened, it went wrong.

We took down the feature as soon as we understood that it was not correct in all parts, he says.

He also believes that there is no intent and that Riks is now reviewing its routines.

- You must have routines when it comes to name publishing, someone else must go through it and check that it is correct.

We have expressed our apology directly to Svensson, says Dick Erixon.
