  As of December 31, 2021, the total number of CPC members was 96.712 million, a net increase of 3.434 million or 3.7% over the end of 2020.

  The Communist Party of China currently has 4.936 million grassroots organizations, a net increase of 117,000 or 2.4% over the end of 2020.

Among them, there are 278,000 grassroots party committees, 316,000 general branches and 4.342 million branches.

  1. Situation of party members

  Gender, ethnicity and education of party members.

There are 28.431 million female party members, accounting for 29.4% of the total number of party members.

There are 7.285 million ethnic minority party members, accounting for 7.5%.

There are 51.461 million party members with college degree or above, accounting for 53.2%.

  The age of the party members.

12.624 million party members aged 30 and below, 11.535 million party members aged 31 to 35, 9.780 million party members aged 36 to 40, 8.775 million party members aged 41 to 45, 9.364 million party members aged 46 to 50, and party members aged 51 to 55 8.776 million, 8.648 million party members aged 56 to 60, and 27.210 million party members aged 61 and above.

Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, 119,000 joined the Party; after the founding of the People's Republic of China and before the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, 14.175 million joined the Party; 21.594 million people have joined the party since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

  Occupation of party members.

There are 6.594 million workers (skilled workers), 25.923 million farmers, animal husbandry and fishermen, 15.487 million professional and technical personnel in enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 10.948 million management personnel in enterprises, institutions and social organizations, and 7.805 million workers in party and government organs There are 3.052 million students, 7.482 million other professionals, and 19.421 million retirees.

  2. Development of party members

  In 2021, there will be 4.383 million party members, an increase of 1.956 million over the previous year.

  Develop the gender, ethnicity, age and educational background of party members.

There were 2.042 million female party members, accounting for 46.6%.

Develop 400,000 ethnic minority party members, accounting for 9.1%.

Develop 3.540 million party members aged 35 and below, accounting for 80.8%.

Develop 2.115 million party members with a college degree or above, accounting for 48.3%.

There are 280,000 workers (skilled workers), 687,000 farmers, herdsmen and fishermen, 655,000 professional and technical personnel in enterprises, institutions and social organizations, 468,000 management personnel in enterprises, institutions and social organizations, and 232,000 workers in party and government organs There are 1.765 million students and 294,000 other professionals.

  3. Intra-Party Commendations

  On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party, the Party Central Committee awarded 29 comrades including Sister Ma Mao the "July 1st Medal", commending 400 outstanding national party members, 300 national outstanding party workers, and 499 national advanced grass-roots party organizations.

7.293 million eligible old party members were awarded the "Glorious 50 Years in the Party" medal.

In 2021, party organizations at all levels across the country will commend 1.531 million outstanding Communist Party members, 555,000 outstanding party workers, and 444,000 advanced grass-roots party organizations.

  4. Application for Party Membership

  By the end of 2021, there were 20.625 million party applicants nationwide and 10.091 million party activists.

There are 3,198 local Party committees at all levels nationwide.

Among them, there are 31 provincial (district, city) committees, 397 city (prefecture) committees, and 2770 county (city, district, banner) committees.

  Party organizations in urban streets, townships, communities (neighborhood committees) and administrative villages.

Party organizations have been established in 9,034 urban streets, 29,649 townships, 114,065 communities (neighborhood committees), and 491,129 administrative villages across the country, with a coverage rate of over 99.9%.

  Party organizations of organs, institutions, enterprises and social organizations.

There are 745,000 grassroots party organizations in government agencies, 949,000 grassroots party organizations in public institutions, 1.532 million grassroots party organizations in enterprises, and 171,000 grassroots party organizations in social organizations.
