China donates 100 passenger buses to Syria to support its internal transport system

The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment in Syria received 100 passenger buses, as a gift from the People's Republic of China to support the internal transport system.

The ceremony of handing over the Chinese gift took place in the exhibition city in Damascus, in the presence of Hussein Makhlouf, Syrian Minister of Local Administration, and Feng Biao, the Chinese ambassador in Damascus.

The Chinese ambassador in Damascus told "Sputnik" that the gift came to help the Syrian people and improve their lives in light of the current conditions they are facing.

Syria is suffering a stifling transportation crisis due to the destruction of most of the sector’s facilities, including internal transport buses, on the one hand, and the scarcity of oil derivatives needed to operate flights in light of the US military’s control of the largest oil and gas fields in the country, and the activities of its officers and soldiers in trading and exporting its production to the markets In some neighboring countries, and to Idlib governorate, most of which is controlled by the terrorist "Jabhat al-Nusra" organization.

For his part, Minister of Local Administration Hussein Makhlouf said that this assistance embodies the friendship between the Syrian Arab Republic and the People's Republic of China.

The Syrian minister appreciated the Chinese supportive stance for Syria in combating terrorism and providing humanitarian aid.
