Bahrain and Egypt sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding

The Kingdom of Bahrain and Egypt signed a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding in the presence of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

The agreements and memoranda of understanding, which came on the sidelines of the Egyptian President’s visit to Manama and concluded yesterday, covered the areas of economic, scientific and technological cooperation, investment, legal and judicial cooperation, export development, exhibition organization, environmental protection, education, sea and air freight services, and cooperation between Capital Governorate in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Cairo Governorate in Egypt.

The Bahraini king and the Egyptian president had held a bilateral meeting during which they reviewed the distinguished fraternal relations and ways to develop frameworks of joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, stressing the importance of continuing consultation and coordination for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

The Bahrain News Agency stated that the meeting also touched on the new situation in the Arab region, as well as a number of regional and international issues and developments of common concern.

During the signing ceremony of the agreements and memoranda of understanding, the Bahraini Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, handed his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry a certificate granting Egypt the right of sovereignty over the information of its subscribers in the existing cloud computing centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Bahraini Minister of Industry and Trade, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, also handed the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs a certificate of accreditation of Egypt as an approved partner for the Global Center for Sea and Air Freight Services.
