Yemen..Houthi militias continue their violations of the armistice and mobilize on the fronts of Marib

Preparations for the battles in Yemen escalated, with the Houthi militias responding to calls for peace, with the Houthi militias continuing to reject the proposal of the UN envoy to Yemen to open Taiz roads in implementation of the terms of the UN armistice extended for two additional months.

Yemeni military sources confirmed that the Houthi militia continues to violate the armistice on all fronts and contact areas, with its continued mobilization of fighters and sending reinforcements and weapons to the various fronts, noting a remarkable escalation of Houthi attacks on the western and southern fronts of Ma'rib.

According to field sources, the militias have never adhered to the armistice on the Faliha fronts, south of Marib, and continued their various attacks on the army and resistance site, the most violent of which were during the past few hours, using artillery, guided missiles and booby-trapped marches.

A member of the Presidential Command Council and the leader of the National Resistance, Brigadier General Tariq Saleh, accused the Houthi militia of rejecting peace options in Yemen, and of its constant quest to blow up the situation by continuing to mobilize fighters and send reinforcements and weapons to the fronts.

In Taiz, the militias continued to send combat reinforcements and weapons to the fronts of the eastern, western and northwestern governorates, amid warnings of the outbreak of violent battles between the two sides, against the background of the Houthis' refusal to open roads in the besieged governorate for more than seven years.

During the past two days, the Houthi militias reviewed their forces mobilized during the current truce period, as they carried out a display of their fighters in the central region, which includes 3,000 fighters, according to informed sources, noting the escalation of the mobilization process and preparation for battle in the ranks of the Houthis, where the Sanaa areas witnessed a unity And Dhamar has shown combat shows to the Houthis during the past month.

The Yemeni government condemned the systematic killing of civilians, especially women and children, by the Houthi militia, in its areas of control, noting, in the words of the Yemeni Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani, the crime of targeting the populated “Run village” north of the Hays district, south of Hodeidah, with booby-trapped marches, which caused the death of a child and wounding 7 others, including women.

On the other hand, two army forces were killed, and five others were wounded on various fighting fronts, as a result of Houthi daily violations of the UN truce, according to the media center of the Yemeni army, pointing to 92 violations of the armistice committed by militias on the fronts of Marib, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, Al-Hodeidah and Taiz, during the past hours.

The escalation of the Houthis on the battlefronts coincides with new international efforts led by the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, who ended an extensive round of consultations in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, where he met the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Naef Al-Hajraf, and the Saudi ambassador. Yemen has Mohammed Al Jaber.

Diplomatic sources stated that the consultations all stressed the importance of the Houthi militias' commitment to the terms of the armistice, and the opening of the main roads in Taiz and other Yemeni governorates, before talking about any transition to advanced peace stages.

The European Union had called on the Houthi militias to open the roads in Taiz and to engage constructively with the efforts of the UN envoy regarding the opening of roads and crossings.

Grundberg stressed that the discussions focused on implementing the truce, specifically opening roads in Taiz and other places in Yemen, to alleviate Yemenis' humanitarian suffering by providing tangible benefits.
