We will know this Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. the name of the new President of the National Assembly.

It is Yaël Braun-Pivet who should be elected by her peers.

Nominated candidate by the majority, the ephemeral Minister of Overseas will become the first woman to access the perch.

Yaël Braun-Pivet will become at 51, the fourth character of the State.

She will thus succeed Richard Ferrand, at the head of a particularly fractured Assembly.

A criminal lawyer by training, she arrived in politics thanks to the first Macronist wave in 2017, re-elected this year as deputy for Yvelines.

Incompetence lawsuits quickly swept away

She notably distinguished herself for five years at the head of the law commission, where she dealt with, among other things, the Benalla affair, the yellow vests crisis, and the Covid-19 epidemic.

If the incompetence lawsuits emerged at the beginning of his taking office, Yaël Braun-Pivet ended up convincing his opponents, praising today his ability to listen and his openness.
