Today, Tuesday, the Qatari capital, Doha, will host a round of indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran in order to save the nuclear agreement, after long rounds of negotiations in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

The Iranian news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani that the nuclear negotiations will resume today, Tuesday, in the Qatari capital (Doha), and that the Iranian delegation will participate, headed by Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagheri.

In turn, the US State Department confirmed the participation of an American delegation in the indirect round of negotiations with Iran in Doha, expressing its readiness to complete and implement the nuclear agreement and return to full and mutual compliance with the agreement.

But she added that achieving this requires Iran to give up its additional demands that are outside the framework of the Vienna nuclear agreement.

And the Tasnim news agency reported, citing a source in the Iranian Foreign Ministry, that the chief nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri, will go to Doha.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh had said that the upcoming negotiations will seek to resolve the outstanding issues regarding lifting sanctions on Iran, noting that the remaining files are points of contention between Tehran and Washington.

He explained that the negotiations were based on a lack of confidence in Washington.

In a parallel context, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz confirmed that Tel Aviv's opposition to the nuclear agreement with Iran is due to it being a bad agreement, as he put it.

In a speech to his party members, Gantz added that Israel will continue to defend itself and prepare for the possibility of Iran crossing the nuclear threshold.

Israeli media said that Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid sent the European Union's foreign affairs coordinator Josep Borrell a message expressing Israel's disappointment with Borrell's attempts to revive the nuclear agreement negotiations with Tehran.
