According to the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe, in order to further ensure the necessary exchanges of cross-border personnel and in light of the current epidemic situation, starting from July 4, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe will allow foreigners to travel to Zimbabwe. The Chinese visa policy has been optimized and adjusted as follows:

1. Scope of acceptance

  (1) Foreigners who are engaged in diplomatic, official and crew activities and who meet the conditions for handling courtesy visas;

  (2) Persons who have resumed work and production in various fields and their foreign family members, including: spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and parents of spouses;

  (3) Chinese citizens who go to China for family reunion or short-term family visits and foreign family members of foreigners with permanent residence qualifications in China, including: foreign spouses, parents, parents of spouses, children, spouses of children, siblings, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren;

  (4) Foreigners who go to China for funerals or visit critically ill relatives.

2. Application process

  (1) Visa applicants must log in to the website https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn to enter the online form filling page, fill in the visa application form online, and make an appointment (reservation website: https://avas.cs.mfa .gov.cn), print the application form (full form) and sign on the confirmation page, and submit the passport and other application materials to the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe at the appointment time.

  (2) According to the relevant mutual visa exemption agreement between China and Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe citizens who hold valid diplomatic and service passports of the Republic of Zimbabwe do not need to apply for a visa to China.

3. Relevant notices

  (1) Before applying for a visa, you must prepare the following basic materials:

  1. Passport: The original passport with a validity period of more than 6 months and blank visa pages and a copy of the passport information page;

  2. Visa application form and photos: 1 copy each of "Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China", "Confirmation Page for Chinese Visa Online Form Filling", and 1 recent frontal bareheaded color photo pasted on the application form (size: 48mm×33mm) ;

  3. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (vaccinates approved by China or the World Health Organization for emergency use or marketing);

  4. Proof of legal stay or residence (applicable to those who do not apply for a visa in the country of nationality): The original and photocopy of a valid proof of legal stay, residence, work or study in the host country or a valid visa must be provided.

  5. Original Chinese passport or original Chinese visa (applicable to those who had Chinese nationality and then added foreign nationality): If the applicant is applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, the original Chinese passport and a copy of the passport photo data page must be provided; Those who have previously obtained a Chinese visa and apply for a visa with a newly issued foreign passport must provide the photo data page of the original foreign passport and a copy of the previously obtained Chinese visa. proof of change of name).

  (2) Those who resume work and production must provide a visa invitation letter (PU or TE) issued by relevant Chinese authorities.

Foreign family members of people who have resumed work and production (including foreigners who have already worked in China) who apply to go to China to live or visit relatives can apply for a corresponding visa with the proof of kinship, and do not need to submit the above-mentioned visa invitation letter.

  Note: Visa invitation letters (PU or TE) are issued by central and state agencies, provincial foreign affairs and commerce departments, central enterprises and municipal foreign affairs departments.

  (3) Those who have been approved by the competent Chinese authorities to work in China can apply for work visas directly with the "Notice of Work Permit for Foreigners in China", and do not need to provide the visa invitation letter issued by the relevant Chinese authorities.

  (4) Those who go to a funeral or visit a critically ill relative must provide the relevant death certificate or critical illness notice.

Fourth, the processing time

  Usually 3 working days, the time required for supplementary materials, verification, force majeure and other reasons is not included in the above period.
