Traffic cuts without prior notice and punctual

.

For security reasons, this is practically the only key to the mobility device in Madrid for the NATO Summit given by the authorities in charge of its design, who continue to recommend that teleworking be chosen as far as possible.

In the City Council of the capital they have identified the points that are going to be

"especially difficult for traffic"

between this Tuesday and Thursday: the entire area of Ifema, which is the place where the international meeting is held;

the Nudo Norte, the entrance to the city via the A-2 and the M-11 motorway, which connects to the airport;

and the axis from Paseo de la Castellana to Paseo del Prado, between Plaza Castilla and Atocha, the place where most of the hotels where attendees stay are located.

The

dinners for the guests

of the 50 delegations participating in the Summit will also have mobility problems starting with the one offered by the King and Queen tonight at the Royal Palace, which will force the terraces of the Plaza Mayor to be removed from 5:00 p.m. and will cause traffic interruptions on nearby roads, such as Mayor, Bailén and Plaza de Oriente.

On Wednesday the evening will be held at the Prado Museum and the restrictions will be extended to its surroundings.

The volume of traffic was already reduced this Monday by up to 12% in the ring between the M-30 and the M-40 and 7% in the central almond of Madrid.

"I want to thank

the patience and understanding

that citizens are showing," said the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.

The owners of the vehicles removed by the tow trucks of the City Council for the establishment of security perimeters will not have to pay to be able to remove them from the municipal deposits if they do so within

a maximum period of 48 hours

.

After that time, they will be obliged to pay the corresponding fee, which is a minimum of 60 euros in the case of motorcycles, 147 euros for cars and 181 euros for trucks.

The EMT bus service will be free for all users until Thursday and some lines will be reinforced, including the one that goes to the Hospital Enfermera Isabel Zendal.

In addition, a shuttle has been installed from the Mar de Cristal Metro stop to Ifema, since the Feria de Madrid underground station will remain closed.
