The incident occurred in connection with the New Year celebrations until the year 2022. According to the indictment, the young man must have aimed and fired the fireworks at the policeman when he was out patrolling the area.
The policeman had pain in his ears, dizziness and headaches in connection with the incident.
The 18-year-old is now being prosecuted at Linköping District Court.
He is charged with attempted aggravated assault and sabotage against blue light activities.
The accused man denies the crime.
