In the village of Marbek, all the houses were badly damaged in the earthquake.

On a stony promontory, Miagul reaches out towards the cliff opposite.

Up there is my house, it is completely destroyed.

Now we live here, homeless, in the open

,” he says.

He installed a green canvas on stakes on a rocky promontory.

He now lives there with his bereaved family: “

My wife was injured and my daughter was killed.

She was special to me…She was five years old…she danced all the time.

»

The family only survives thanks to donations from local and international NGOs, because they have nothing left.

Further, the village of Bariam Kheil, there too all is only desolation.

Khunabas Khan, perches on the rubble of his home, with a heavy heart.

His family lived only from breeding.

Its 80 animals, almost all buried under the rubble.

"

Even before the earthquake, we were not in a good financial situation,

" explains the farmer.

But now it's worse.

We have lost everything.

If this humanitarian aid had not arrived, you would have seen, more people would have died, because we had nothing to eat or drink.

 »

“

We don't have the means to rebuild our house

,” says Khunabas Khan, who lives with around twenty members of his family, crammed into a tent donated by a local NGO.

The earthquake took place in the Khost region, near the border with Pakistan.
