A new part of the future large metropolitan bicycle network.

On Wednesday, the elected officials of Nantes Métropole must decide on the creation in 2025 of a new cycle axis aimed at connecting Nantes station to the Bottière-Chesnaie district, allowing to go to Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire.

Wide, continuous and secure, this 3.5 km track will notably take the very busy boulevard Ernest-Dalby, which will pass for the occasion in a one-way direction (probably in the outgoing direction) to the chagrin of many motorists and delivery people.

A small revolution in this district in the east of Nantes, which will become “more peaceful” before the realization of additional developments of public spaces, by 2026-2027, indicates the town hall of Nantes.

“Adapted communication and mediation” will be launched at the end of the year, with the presentation of the future traffic plan to local residents and traders.

“We will think about the development as a whole, without penalizing anyone,” promises Nicolas Martin, vice-president in charge of soft mobility.

Motorists should in any case refer to Boulevard de Sarrebruck (along the Loire) or Rue du Général-Buat.
