The accident occurred this Monday morning on the road from Louens to Saint-Aubin-de-Médoc in Gironde.
A 30-year-old was driving a scooter on this departmental road and was hit by a motorist who fled.
The gendarmerie was called at 8:19 a.m. by the municipal police, and the emergency services evacuated the victim, aged 32, to the Pellegrin University Hospital, reports the communication department of the Gironde gendarmerie.
The young man succumbed to his injuries during the day.
The motorist is still wanted on Tuesday by the Mérignac gendarmerie company, in charge of this case.
A call for witnesses could be launched very soon.
