China News Service, Quanzhou, June 28 (Wu Guanbiao) Recording programs, editing videos, planning new interview content... Lai Yihong, a young Quanzhou self-media worker, has a busy and fulfilling life every day.

In his eyes, it is a great pleasure to be able to chat with Taiwan compatriots about life stories.

"Post-00" Lai Yihong was born in Quanzhou, a hometown of overseas Chinese across the sea from Taiwan.

As the main ancestral place of Taiwanese Han compatriots, Quanzhou has attracted many Taiwanese compatriots to start businesses, work, invest and live here.

"My grandfather is a soldier. After Mr. Lien Zhan and Mr. Yu Muming visited the mainland in 2005, he told me a lot of cross-strait stories." Influenced by his family, Lai Yihong became interested in cross-strait culture since childhood.

After high school, he began to learn to produce self-media programs, and founded the "Fortunate to Meet You" series of interviews, starting from the cross-strait culture and understanding the life stories of Taiwan compatriots.

Lai Yihong's program uses video connection to allow more netizens to participate in interviews and tell cross-strait stories.

When it comes to his own show, Lai Yihong talks endlessly.

In his program, the interview guests include students, doctors, scholars, businessmen, etc. from both sides of the strait. Each of them uses a unique perspective to tell the story of life in the mainland and share the bits and pieces of Taiwan.

In addition to "sit down" interviews, Lai Yihong also likes to "walk up".

Previously, he invited a Taiwanese businessman to take him to West Street in Quanzhou, recording programs while walking.

"I didn't expect him to be more familiar with West Street than me, a native of Quanzhou, and he could tell the stories of some small alleys. He really integrated into Quanzhou and regarded it as his home, and I became his 'guest' to introduce his hometown. '."

Under the operation of Lai Yihong and his team, the show gradually improved.

The rise of live broadcast platforms, the increase in the number of viewers, and the invitations to cross-strait exchange activities have made Lai Yihong more confident.

"The biggest influence on me may be my participation in the Straits Forum in 2021. I have met many people who I thought were out of reach in the past. My horizons have broadened, and I also feel that my efforts and the teachings of my family have not been in vain." Lai Yihong said, "At that time, Grandpa's health is very poor, but seeing my photos on the Straits Forum is very gratifying."

After his grandfather passed away, Lai Yihong looked through the letters he had left to himself, and one of them made him have mixed feelings.

"The letter begins with some common parental short stories, and ends with asking me to do one line of work and one line of love, make a down-to-earth contribution to cross-strait exchanges, and be an upright self-media person."

It was just normal at the time.

The old man's "nagging" has become Lai Yihong's biggest motivation for work.

Not long ago, Lai Yihong had a dialogue with Yu Muming, the former chairman of the new party, on the show.

"To make my own contribution to cross-strait exchanges is my grandfather's expectation for me, and it is also my future development direction. I will continue to walk the road that my predecessors have not finished."
