In the United States, supporters of the right to abortion continue to mobilize.

A candlelight vigil was organized on Sunday June 26 in front of the High Court, very close to the Capitol.

While half of the country is preparing to ban or restrict access to abortion, the question already seems to be imposed as the main theme of the mid-term elections five months before the ballot.

As of Friday and

the announcement of the cancellation of the Roe vs. Wade judgment by the Supreme Court

, Democratic President Joe Biden appeared before the Americans barely a few hours later.

“

This fall,

[the decision]

Roe

[vs Wade]

is on the ballot.

Individual freedoms are on the ballot.

The rights to privacy, to liberty, to equality, all of those rights all on the ballot

 ,” he said.

Joe Biden 's

message to Americans

is clear: on

November 8

, we must vote for pro-abortion candidates.

Threatened to lose the majority in Congress, the Democrats intend to take advantage of this societal debate to remobilize their base... but also to tip the undecided into their camp: according to recent polls in the United States, voters without a label are mobilizing twice as many for pro-abortion candidates.

The stakes of these midterm elections will be particularly high in a series of key states such as Arizona, Colorado and Nevada, where the right to abortion is threatened.

Conversely, the Republicans, on the

strength of this success

, launched their campaign focused on the difficulties of the Democratic administration faced with a sluggish economy and galloping inflation.

The conservatives expect to be able to surf on the unpopularity of President Joe Biden, at its strongest since his election: only 36% of favorable opinions.
