The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Emirati Competitiveness Council signed a memorandum of understanding to link the National Added Value Program with the “Nafis” initiative, which was launched within the “50 Projects”, to stimulate the provision of job opportunities for citizens in the industrial sector, support the growth of companies operating in it, and ensure business sustainability. and the continuity of national economic growth.

The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber, the Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Sarah bint Yousef Al-Amiri, and the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dr. Abdulrahman Abdulmanan Al-Awar.

It was signed by Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Competitiveness Council.

Under the memorandum, the initiative, which is affiliated with the Emirati Competitiveness Council, will be linked with the program of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, to motivate companies that obtained the "national value added" certificate to increase the proportion of local content, by providing job opportunities for citizens in the private sector.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry, Omar Al-Suwaidi, confirmed that the program achieved remarkable success during the first year of its implementation, as it succeeded in redirecting 41.4 billion dirhams to the local markets, which benefited the entities and companies that joined the program.

He added that «the program has witnessed remarkable expansions since its implementation, as a number of federal government agencies and 17 major national companies in the country joined it, and it holds many growth and expansion opportunities for companies in important sectors, such as heavy industries, space technology, hydrogen industry, medical technology and advanced industries. Food and beverages, agricultural technology, pharmaceutical industry, electrical and electronic equipment, machinery and equipment industry, petrochemicals, chemical products, rubber and plastics.

He pointed out that the ministry will work, in partnership with the Emirati Competitiveness Council, to register companies joining the national added value program in the (Nafis) initiative, which are endeavors that serve national goals, especially in the industrial sector, which is witnessing a strong start towards regional and global competitiveness.

The Secretary-General of the Council, Ghannam Al Mazrouei, stressed that the Nafees program is receiving the attention of official authorities and ministries due to its importance in supporting Emirati job seekers and helping them find opportunities in the private sector that are commensurate with their qualifications and capabilities.

He said, "The National Cadres Competitiveness Council has held many constructive partnerships with government and private agencies, including the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, which is specialized in proposing and preparing policies, strategies and legislation related to the promotion of local products, local industrial content and national added value in the industrial sector," adding that "the opportunity for cooperation She is promising.”

He added that the memorandum will contribute to supporting the Emirati human development system and help prepare productive and sustainable Emirati human capital, in addition to supporting initiatives and programs to encourage citizens and companies to take advantage of the benefits it provides, with the aim of helping Emirati cadres work in the private sector.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that the memorandum aims to provide educational opportunities regarding the employment of citizens in the private sector, and programs to familiarize citizens and enable them to become familiar with the initiatives and programs of "Nafis" and encourage them to join the private sector.

The memorandum of understanding is a new window for citizens looking for qualitative job opportunities in the private sector, especially the industrial sector, as it aims to improve the human development system for citizens in the private sector, in addition to enrolling them in advanced training opportunities through the ministry's partners.

During the past period, the national value-added team in the ministry, in cooperation with Nafes, worked to find an effective mechanism to integrate and unify the efforts of the two initiatives, so that they would lead to increased job opportunities for citizens in the private sector, enhance the induction and educational opportunities for the sustainability of the work of citizens in it, and contribute to raising the The level of competitiveness of Emirati cadres.
