A 17-year-old dog who overcame a disability caused by abuse and started a new life won the 'World's Ugliest Dog' contest.

According to foreign media such as AFP on the 25th (local time), 'Happy Face', a Chinese crested dog, won the 'World's Ugliest Dog' contest held in San Francisco, California the day before by unanimous judgement.

With a history of nearly 50 years, the event was suspended for the past two years due to the pandemic and resumed this year.

The winning dog Happy Face has a unique appearance with sparse hair growing only on the head, tail, and ankles due to the nature of the breed.

Happy Face has suffered from neurological disorders, such as having trouble standing upright or walking, with his head bent because he had been abused by an animal hoarder (a person who collects animals pathologically) in the past.
